11. Oliver and Capitalism

I hope that you will consider my words seriously Oliver, whereas, I know that Naomi will ridicule them as just another verbose letter that should be discarded as futile twaddle. Sadly there is no quick way of saying what needs to be said as the problem is deep set within Naomi’s troubled mind. There are two parts to this altercation. One is the relatively harmless debate that you and I were having, and enjoying, and the other was Naomi’s hostile attitude towards Kay and I that was the result of her derogatory conversations with Elliott during your visit with him.
Let me address the first item. I spent a long time, a few years ago, dabbling in the debating world, so, I very much enjoy a good debate, but, I never take exception to it, or feel offended by someone else’s opinion. Sadly, and no doubt, contrary to what Naomi might say, I am not well mentally anymore. I can no longer adequately articulate what my mind’s eye is showing me. I can see what I want to say and recognise the concepts and thoughts involved but to translate that into the spoken word can be difficult for me to achieve. After receiving 14 guests, before you arrived, my head was in turmoil and certainly not in the condition where I could remember all the finer details of capitalism, however, I tried to because of the topic of the debate. One of my favourite topic, and one that I would like to think I never lost the debate to, was that of capitalism. When taking an unbiased view of it and how it has developed through the obsessions of money hungry, unscrupulous people, it can be categorically labelled as the worst evil in our modern day world, in my opinion. It creates a poverty line of those who have and those who have not and is responsible for the deaths of many in the poverty trap. The problem was exacerbated by Naomi delivering insulting remarks at every point I would make, like, “don’t bother Oliver, he is in an argumentative mood for some reason”. I was not so she was frustrating me by her unnecessary comments. That led me to incorrectly say that I believed in communism when I was trying to say that I believe in the law of consecration. Having said that, you were wrong when saying that China was in a bad place because it would only allow one child per couple. Consider, if you will, China is over populated, if such a rule was not in place imagine the state the country would be in with insufficient resources to provide for its overgrowing population and the mortality rate of those living there. The law was necessary to conserve life and allow everybody to adequately eat. That is good communist organisation policy and excellent use of that law, not a unnecessary restriction to the Chinese population.
The law of consecration may not produce any super rich individuals, as capitalism does, but it will ensure a high quality of existence with the resources being equally shared among the world population. Who really needs over indulgence anyway. You can only drive one car at a time, or live in one house at a time, and eat so much food, so, any addition to that will just create greed and selfishness. How much money you have in your bank does not determine your social status or moral astuteness. It does not make you a better person as shared resources would with everyone having equal opportunity to live a healthy happy life. Capitalism just provides happiness to the minority with the majority living an abysmal lifestyle. 99% of the worlds wealth belongs to 1% of the worlds population, who will never be able to spend even a small part of their wealth and with high levels of wealth always brings with it high levels of corruption and human suffering. That is the direct result of capitalism. That is what makes it unfair and evil.
There is a very good documentary, available on Netflix, for free, narrated by Michael Moore called “Capitalism, a Love Story” in which the evils of capitalism are exposed in detail. It is worth a couple of hours of any bodies life to get a true perspective of the effects of capitalism and why it is seen as the worlds greatest evil, needing to be replaced with true democracy as soon as is possible.
The Mormon scriptures also contains a very detailed story call “The Tree of Life” where God makes it crystal clear what the effects and components of capitalism are and the benefits of the law of consecration. Remember that those who are Mormons believe that to be the literal word of God and that cannot be superseded by any human thought or rationalisation. It is also well to note that the Mormon church consists of two parts, it’s administration and it doctrine. The administration is under the control of imperfect human being prone to making errors and subject to the enticing of satan, who urges them to choose his doctrine rather then Gods. That being the case, there will undoubtedly be errors of corruption in a humanistic organisation. The doctrine is perfect under any scrutiny and fervently condemns capitalism. Corruption is and expected component of any human participation and will happen where men are trusted with a degree of authority, as the may suppose.
