Brother Derek Roger Smart, this moment and day la an important time for you. Because this day with your dear wife standing near you, you have a sincere desire to receive your Patriarchal Blessing.

It is therefore with the authority of the Holy Melchisedek Priesthood that I hold,I now lay my hands upon your head and as the Patriarch of this Stake, give unto you what you have so desired. I pronounce the words of your Patriarchal Blessing.

This blessing will be as a strong pillar of strength for you. to be a bulwark of power and strength for you. To give you fortitude when feeling weak and low. To lift you and encourage you, overcoming any doubts or fears and anxieties.You need to hear these words so it is a memorable day indeed in your mortal life.

One more day of progression which is important. For it is the day when the Lord would have you know of His mind and will concerning you and your life.

The Lord is well pleased with you and your wife knowing you have now fully dedicated yourselves to his service and to your Heavenly Father. Do not disappoint them, or fail yourself.

Go into life determined never to deviate from the paths of righteousness, remaining steadfast and strong, that your testimony will grow. Remembering you hold the Holy Melchisedek Priesthood.

Honour it at all times. To be a good father and the Patriarch in your home. Love your wife, so your love for each other will grow more beautiful, to become magnificent in its beauty of unselfish love. As the years go by and you move into the “Autumn of your years, your Marriage will become more magnificent in its beauty of unselfish love. Your love for each other will then so shine to pierce the darkness around you; the light illuminating into other lives around you. Many seeing the love you have for each other grow to be so beautiful as time passed by. Enduring all things and sharing all things together, times of happiness and joy and times of stress and sorrow. Both to strengthen each other with your sustaining love and close companionship and respect for each other, Your children nurtured and grow up in a house of love and order and a house of prayer.

Worship and pray together so as to stay close together, not only in this mortal life but to be together in the Celestial Kingdom.

At this time it is important for you to know you have a responsible part to play In the Plan of Salvation. Now to put away matters and things of no importance for you in life. How to face and concentrate on more important things you must do.

For there are dear ones beyond the Veil waiting for their work to be done. This is very important work for you to do. At this very moment of time, your loved ones are close and near you, rejoicing gladly with you. They have known of the deep sorrow you experienced when they had to leave you. The lord in His love for you, helped and sustained you through those times of grief, sorrow and pain* A time when you alone walked through the Valley of despondency and darkness, feeling so utterly lost. Having so many questions unanswered. But the Lord grasped your hand and you found questions become clearer and answered; to now know all the answers as everything is clearly before you to be seen.

For you are of the noble House of Israel, indeed you are of the seed and lineage of Ephraim. The blood of Judah runs through your veins giving you strength and courage to complete all that has to be done.

So now progress to be of greater strength in the Priesthood Quorums, taking your place as a Priesthood leader. To lead, inspiring others around you, lifting them by your example.

You will be able to express yourself articulately, words sincerely voiced, to be a good teacher. Being a good example for the youth.

Remember the eyes of others will be upon you at all times, looking for your help, encouragement and example, which you can give and be unto many. Your light will so shine as to give hope and help to others. What you do will give much encouragement to many. By your works you will be known. You will bring other good souls into the Church, the Lord giving you opportunities to express the testimony you voiced this day. So to share the love of the Gospel with others. Having no fear or shyness, being brave and courageous, never flinching in doing your duty. To speak and bear testimony, sometimes in places where you thought you would never have the opportunity to do so.

The Lord will bless you with added intelligence. Your mind to expand, your intellect to grow, your mind capable to absorb new knowledge and learning. Words in the scriptures appear to be new unto you as you study and ponder upon them. Now to become of greater help for your wife. Assist her especially now to go through the period of learning. That you will find life to become more exciting and full of challenge. New challenges, new adventures, never being daunted or discouraged by anything or any difficulty that comes up as an obstacle before you. Beware of Satan in your own life and in the lives of those around you. Everything now to remain ’wholesome’, new and clean in life.

Study good books and all things that are good. To find and choose the best things in life. Never feeling inferior in whatever you do or in the presence of anyone around you.

Work and prepare to be a good teacher, being precise end explicit with words. Speaking with authority upon subject you have so diligently learnt. For now your knowledge will increase and expand. Having no doubts of your abilities.

The Lord needs you and He loves you and requires you to remain strong and faithful in the Gospel, enduring to the end. To work in the Temple bringing so much joy and happiness to many near you, especially those this day who rejoice near you.

Raise your children in righteousness, loving them, spending time and having patience with them, so they always look to you as being a good and loving father and patriarch in their home.

You will be now of strength to the Lord’s Priesthood. Finding joy together as a family, much is dependent upon you, so do not lose your way or your faith. Do not disappoint yourself or anyone else. Overcome the evil powers of Satan by your good works. Be diligent in service and in all things. There is much expected of you. Better your life in many ways from today to be a good leader.

I seal you now up unto eternal life and that you will rise to come forth on the morning of the first resurrection, to be with those you loved; so stand in the presence of the just and righteous in the Celestial Kingdom, being with your Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.

This blessing I seal upon your head and I do so in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
